The RPM Plus Nepal program focused on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) activities at the national and district levels.
RPM Plus assisted the USAID/Nepal Infectious Disease Program to—
- Establish a structure and process to formulate an AMR prescribing policy, guided by clinical and AMR surveillance data
- Strengthen public sector drug management to improve availability of appropriate antimicrobial and antiparasitic drugs for priority infectious diseases
- Strengthen public and private sector drug provider practices to enhance the rational use of appropriate antimicrobial and antiparasitic drugs for treatment of priority infectious diseases
To accomplish these objectives, RPM Plus worked in selected Nepalese districts to develop and implement interventions.
