Donor Coordination

RPM Plus fosters coordination of organizations that donate to health commodities programs, in order to improve product availability at local levels. In addition, the program promotes specific mechanisms to monitor and assess the impact of reform initiatives on access, availability, and use of essential drugs and health commodities.

All staff from RPM Plus, its partners, and collaborating institutions use their diverse skills and experience to help countries strengthen their own systems for managing drug supply and improving the use of essential drugs and other health commodities.

Global TB Drug Facility

To help combat TB infection in the developing world, RPM Plus collaborates with the Stop TB Initiative's Global Drug Facility (GDF). The GDF provides effective, high-quality anti-TB drugs to countries in need, and RPM Plus works with the GDF to help ensure that these drugs are properly stored, effectively distributed, and correctly used.

RPM Plus also joins GDF teams that assess the drug management capacity of countries requesting TB drugs. These surveys help determine if a country needs technical assistance to effectively manage a donation of TB drugs. RPM Plus has participated in GDF country surveys in Kenya, Moldova, and Tajikistan and is currently involved in determining whether requesting countries are following international TB standards, a prerequisite for receipt of drugs through the GDF.
