Virtual Strategic Planning Program (VSPP)

In this complex time, full of constant changes and challenges, organizations need effective leaders with the capacity to plan for the future. Leaders need to plan in a strategic way so that their institutions will be able to adapt to changes and meet the needs of their target populations. In order to support managers and their teams throughout the process of creating strategic plans, the Leadership, Management, and Sustainability Program (LMS) in Management for Sciences Health (MSH) has designed the Virtual Strategic Planning Program (VSPP).
The goal of the VSPP is to lead management teams of four to 10 individuals from participating organizations through the four stages of strategic planning. At the end of the program, each team will have a complete strategic plan.
The VSPP is structured in six modules. The first module offers a general introduction to the program. Participants will have the opportunity to become familiar with the website and to organize themselves as a team. The second module provides a general introduction to the principles of strategic planning. Modules three through six respond to the basic questions of the strategic planning process. Participating teams prepare a part of the strategic plan in each module.
During the VSPP, each participating team develops a strategic plan. The VSPP facilitators support the teams in the creation of their strategic plans, answering questions, and giving suggestions.
The VSPP is available in English and Spanish.
